Dominio de Elbio 2023 is a celebration of intensity in every sip. With a deep garnet red hue, this wine offers a vibrant aromatic profile. Imagine immersing yourself in a lush forest, surrounded by black fruits like ripe blackberries and cherries. Floral notes of violets and roasted herbs intermingle with a spicy hint of nutmeg and white pepper. On the palate, its full texture caresses elegantly, revealing the fleshiness of black cherries and soft, refined tannins. The finish, prolonged and floral, highlights its balance and freshness, characteristic of the vineyards of La Horra.

About Dominio de Elbio

With over 2,300 years of viticultural tradition, La Horra stands as one of the most renowned locations within the DO Ribera del Duero. Nestled in this landscape, where the history of the vine dates back to the Celtiberian times, lies the Dominio de Elbio estate, a project that aims to express all that this territory has to offer.
 
The estate encompasses 60 hectares of woodland and vineyard, with 45 hectares planted, within the well-known triangle formed by La Horra, Anguix, and Roa. The vines, situated at an altitude of 869 metres, thrive on clay-limestone soils under a continental climate. These conditions largely explain the wine's personality: concentration and power, certainly, but always accompanied by freshness.
 
Dominio de Elbio is the second wine from the project, named after the estate itself as it is crafted from its finest grapes. The blend combines Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot to create a complex expression of the terroir, where fruit plays a leading role and ageing adds depth without distracting from its origin.
 
The harvest and grape selection allow for precision before a 12-month ageing process, with 75% of the wine in foudre and the remainder in new French oak barrels. This combination seeks to preserve freshness while simultaneously providing structure, texture, and complexity.
 
Dominio de Elbio is the interpretation of an estate and a territory with a millennia-old history. A deep, elegant, and characterful red, crafted to demonstrate that in La Horra, power can perfectly walk hand in hand with finesse.
